Jack Nickel is considered as the #1 rated Tight End in the class of 2022. Standing 6’4” 215lbs, his presence on the football field is noticeable for the 8th grade Milton Eagles. He was named 2017 B2C All American and 2018 Under Armour Youth All American for his outstanding play on the field. Nickel’s size and athleticism takes over games on both sides of the ball as a tight end and defensive end. He is a relentless blocker and consistent vertical threat down the field. His ability to pull down catches over smaller defenders is a weapon for any quarterback. His speed, length, and strength on defense penetrates the backfield to create sacks and tackles for loss from the DE position. Nickle was named the 2017 B2C All American Game Defensive MVP and the 2017 Future Stars Game 8th grade MVP.
Nickel’s level of play changes the outcome of a game. “My favorite game this year was against Cherokee. I had 7 receptions for over 150 yards with two touchdowns. I also registered three sacks”, announced Nickel. His talent on both sides of the ball is off the charts. “Against Alpharetta we were at the 20 yard line on 3rd down when I ran a post and caught a one handed touchdown in traffic. It was the most memorable play of the season for me”, Nickel explained. Special moments like this come more often for him than other players.
“My goal is to play Varsity next year. I’m weightlifting and doing sprint workouts while playing basketball for Milton 8th grade”, Nickel told Born To Compete. “I want to get faster and stronger.” Nickel will represent Georgia in the Under Armour Youth All American Game in January at the Citrus Bowl against the best players in the nation. No question this young talent will make an immediate impact for a high school program next fall.
