Future Stars Team Georgia Tryouts – Warner Robins Recap
Future Stars Game held tryouts for the first time in Warner Robins, giving young athletes all around middle Georgia an opportunity to show off their athletic skills for a chance to play on the national stage during this year’s Florida-Georgia All Star game in Bradenton, Florida.
In the 6th grade, camp MVP Quovantae Rutledge out of Macon, is an aggressive linebacker who is a fierce competitor.
At 5’6; 145lbs Rutledge’s size, along with his great speed and good football instincts, makes him a potentially dominant linebacker.
Other top 6th grade performers:
- Adrian Jackson out of Macon had a great camp. His size, quickness and speed to play on island makes him a very good cover corner. He was in the running for 6th the grade MVP battle for MVP, but Rutledge edged him out in the end.
- Khairi Miller from Perry is a compact linebacker with good feel for the game. He has the perfect size and skill set for run stopping middle linebacker.
This camp produced the best 7th graders we’ve seen so far this year. These young athletes all proved to be game changers at every position.
The 7th grade MVP, Weston Franklin, is a 6’0; 220lbs lineman with amazing speed and quickness to match most skill players. Franklin, who came to us from Jesup, Georgia, is strong, super aggressive, with great technique. He’s a dominant offensive lineman with NFL left tackle potential.

- Terrance Ferguson from Byron, Georgia, is a 6’0; 206lbs offensive lineman who’s very strong. He’s especially dominant when he gets his hands on you. When you put him and camp MVP, Weston Franklin, together you could
easily make one half of any offensive line in the country - Ahmad Walker from Bonaire proved to be a very athletic player. At 5’9; 170lbs

Weston Franklin he’s a dominant every down back. His quickness, attitude, and strength all make him a potentially un-blockable defensive end. He’s quick enough to run by you, strong enough to run through you at defensive end.
- Blake Ethridge brought a skill set that we rarely see. A young athlete with potential to make the team as a quarterback or defensive end. His excellent touch and command make him a good quarterback, but his great size (5’10 170lbs), desire and work ethic also make him a great defensive end.
- Demetrius Coleman, an athlete out of LaGrange can make team at quarterback, wide receiver or defensive back. He may have been the best athlete at the camp.
- Jahlen Rutherford out of Macon is the type of player who has a diverse set of skills that you’d pick him to be on your team now and figure out where he can help you later. Rutherford is big enough to play linebacker, yet fast and skilled enough to be a running back, safety, or wide receiver.
In the 8th grade camp, Nigel Manns’ size, standing 6ft, speed (4.73/40), and quickness not only locked him in as the camp MVP, but he’s just tapping into his unlimited potential, which is why he may be a big time high school recruit at wide receiver. He’s still young and a little raw, but his work ethic is second to none. Look for him to give the Florida defensive backs a lot of match-up problems.
- Roderick Smith out of Macon is a 6-1; 255lbs lineman with two all-important qualities; he’s coachable and he’s a hard worker. Smith dominated all of the groups pass rushers in 1 one 1 drills.
- Marcus Brown from Warner Robins and Carlton Daniels from Lithonia are two very hard-working, skilled players with good hands who already play like a pair of polished wide receivers. The camps in Georgia have put a lot of very talented wide receivers on display, and their athletic ability adds to an already deep and talented group.
Rosters for Team Georgia will be announced Wednesday, March 30th and of course, they will face off with Team Florida Saturday, June 18th at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
