The previous weekend Air Noland put on a show against a very good team in the College Park Rams.  With the challenge of the Rams being one of the better defensive secondaries in youth football in the state of Georgia Air Noland went to work.  Throwing for over 300 yards and 5TDs with 1 INT.  His team would go on to win the game 34-0.  Congrats to Air Noland for being named the Player of the Week.  #B2Cfamily

North Henry Black and Hapeville game lived up to the hype.  North Henry Black would pull off the hard fought game with a 20-19 victory over a well coached Hapeville.  Don’t be shocked if North Henry gets the Wild Card bid into B2C and it ends up being an all North Henry matchup for the B2C Championship.  It is very hard to bounce back from a loss of a highly anticipated game and turnaround and beat a good team but thats what the Atlanta Tigers did with a victory over the Georgia Falcons 7-6.  Thats a direct reflection on the kids, coaches and parents to pull out that win.  That’s a mentally tough team.  Acworth has beaten both of the top teams in their league and they continue to get better and better as evident to them scoring 40 points in their last two games.

Downtown Falcons from Athens make their way in the rankings for the first time in the history of their program as they check in at #10.  The YFA is starting to slowly turn into a three team race as Gresham, GA Thoro Red and North Henry Orange are starting to separate themselves from the pack.  All three teams have a legit chance to make it to the B2C.  Pike Co survived a battle with Fayette County as they beat them 22-20.  Pike County also makes the B2C Top 10 for the first time ever in their programs history at 6U.  Warner Robins is has something brewing in middle GA as they are now undefeated and look like a lock for the B2C Championship Series as long as they win their league.  Harrison has another big test this weekend against East Paulding as last week they defeated Wheeler.  With a win Harrison could very well make their way into the top 10.  East Metro Steelers are starting to become a program that everyone is talks about.  Their 6U team is playing at a high level and remain one of the only undefeated teams in their league.  Acworth won the first ever Ice Cream Bowl where the winner is provided ice cream by B2C at their practice.

Great game between GA Thoro and Welcome All.  Both coaches prepared their teams appropriately and all players involved gave great effort.  Only six points separated the teams and GA Thoro came out on top of this battle 12-6.  With that win they were given the nod into the #1 spot.  With recent wins over Tucker and Welcome All during the regular season it is hard to deny Thoro the top spot.  The Atlanta Bulldogs the former #1 team has done nothing but dominate games.  The Atlanta Bulldogs shouldn’t overlook their schedule as they have Decatur Army down the road which can serve as a quality win fro them.  They are averaging almost 40 points a game and haven’t given up a single POINT yet on defense.  If these two ever meet which we are hearing it’s a possibility that they will then we hope the Atlanta turns out for the game as b both teams have put in the work and deserve a great atmosphere to compete in front of.  Tucker finally got back to their winning ways with a 20-18 victory over a very good GSA team.  Acworth looked GOOD this past weekend as their defense played lights out.  Only giving up 6 points to Smyrna.  Pope gets a big win over previously undefeated Wheeler.  Now they. Must take on another undefeated team in Marietta, should be a good one.  Collins Hill remains undefeated in the GFL and so does Grayson Wood.  Forest Park Vikings and Riverdale both remain undefeated and will be able to possibly sharpen their blade so to speak as they won’t see each other until late October.

North Henry proved again that they are the #1 team in the state.  This has been the most dominant we have ever seen them.  Their DLine sets the tone for them every game.  They looked good defeating a solid Central Dekalb team.  ABA led by Coach Reggie believes this us their year to win B2C.  They have the running game, the defense and possibly the Player of the Year on their team in the QB Cypher.  They have a chance to beat North Henry if they can figure out how to deal with that line when the time comes in B2C.  Parkview had one of their biggest wins a couple of weeks ago.  Now they must see if they can finish the drill and walk away with the GFL Championship.  Only problem with that is Peachree Ridge is starting to hit their stride and they just had a quality victory against Grayson in a 7-0 battle.  Should be an interesting matchup to see if it happens.  East Paulding and North Paulding are on a collision course at the end of the season when they play each other.  Both will possibly still be undefeated which will mean playoff seeding will be on the line.  The Atlanta Colts are starting to make some waved in the North Metro Football League.  Looks like they will possibly run the table.

If you heard the Born To Compete Youth Sports Report on V103 on Friday morning it was said that Central DeKalb was on upset alert.  It had nothing to do with anything Central DeKalb was doing wrong and more with everything Tucker was doing right.  Coach Brandon from Tucker is slowly climbing the list for Coach of the Year Honors at the B2C Gala.  Great win bye them this past weekend.  Tucker now has wins against GSA and Central DeKalb.  If they continue to win then they could very well find themselves challenging the defending state championships the GA Seminoles for that #1 ranking when they meet in a couple of weeks.   Rome now sits as the #2 team in the state behind the GA Seminoles.  Middle GA Bears still have the #1 offensive threat in the state on their team and when he gets the ball in his hands he is a nightmare. With Smyrna beating Acworth this past weekend the NWGYFL is starting to balance out as it is becoming one of the more competitive leagues in the state at that particular age group.  Rome, Smyrna, Acworth, Rockmart and Sharpsburg all have a chance to make B2C

In the YFA this would be considered the warmup week before we see some really good matchups as next week has Welcome All vs North Henry and GA Seminoles vs Central Dekalb both are good matchups and will let us know who is going to be either contending with Welcome All or who actually has a legitimate chance of beating the reigning champs.  Fairburn Flames Orange is quietly having a really good season.  Besides their loss to Phenix City Outlaws they have played great.  Milford, Trion and GA Falcons continue to win both making the needed adjustments as they prepare themselves for the stretch run in their league. Rome has started to rise to the top in the NWGYFL with huge back to back wins against top teams Smyrna and Douglasville. MLC Hurricanes make their way into the rankings.  Midway moves closer and closer to their B2C bid as they beat previously undefeated Atlanta Colts.

With B2C Championship Series a couple of months away the picture is getting clearer for the 8th Grade division.  Brookwood and Mill Creek are about to battle in a couple of weeks and it will be a good one.  A sleeper team to look out for is Parkview, they have offense that can score on anybody.  This might be Coach Nate best job on the sidelines since he started coaching the 8th grade team.  Stephenson has to just win out and they are a lock.  Quintero Lawson the beast of a running back from Stephenson has a chance to walk away with the Turman Award for the best overall player in youth football if he continues to play at high level.  North Cobb is loaded and they have arguably the best signal caller in the country in Malachi Singleton who is up for the Turman Award as well.  Cambridge will make a case for their bid as last weekend they put on a show against a very well coached Alpharetta team who features Justice Hayes who is playing lights out at RB.  Jack Marlow from Cambridge was able to have the most impact on the game as he had touchdowns running, passing and also caught a pass to convert the two point.  Fort and Rothchild in Columbus have been rivals for years and now with both teams being undefeated this will be a great game.  The two wild card teams that might shake up everything is Locust Grove and Crawford Long.  Locust Grove has Mike “PoPo” Aguirre who is a monster on both sides of the ball and the leading candidate for LB of the Year.  Crawford Long who is currently undefeated in APS has Ricky Lee, he can absolutely get it done.  The best matchup of the year will be Ricky Lee CB (Long) vs Terrance Love WR/ATH (Renaissance) if this two teams meet up.  Two players that will and should be All Americans when their time comes.
