Future Stars Game Tryouts – Cobb County Recap
It’s no surprise that Georgia is home to some of the greatest football players in the country. You may be surprised to know that there is one organization who has the passion, commitment and the professional integrity to discover, develop and celebrate these talented stars at an early age. The Future Stars Game.
This weekend FSG continued its quest to find the best of the best athletes to compete in one of the country’s most elite middle school All-Star Games.
Last week FSG discovered several very skilled and talented players in some of the Peach State’s smallest towns. This weekend the FSG coaches returned to the Atlanta area in Cobb County hoping to fill some of the last spots on Team Georgia’s All-Star roster.

In the 6th grade combine, Andre Stewart’s size and speed (5.18/40) were both impressive, but at the defensive back position, he separated himself from the competition and earned MVP honors by focusing on his playing technique and proving to the coaches that he’s eager to improve his game, work hard and put in the extra time and effort to become one of the best.
Other Top 6th Grade performers:
Daniel Martin is definitely a wide receiver to watch for in future. His unlimited potential along with his size and speed could carry him all the way to the NFL. When you watch him, it’s hard to believe he’s only been playing wideout for only a few months. He’s a raw talent but his nice soft hands make up for his rawness for now.
FSG coaches love to see a hard working offensive lineman try to make the roster and Drake Hatcher proves he can be a physical, dominant force on the offensive line.
Latrell Bullard already possesses many of the traits coaches look for in a good defensive end. He’s built strong and has an excellent first step aggression. Bullard may be young, but he can already hold his own against the pass or run.
In the 7th grade, MVP Giancarlo Riley, is another dominant offensive lineman with good size, long arms and a good![Giancarlo Riley]()
bend. He’s a young kid with quick feet and violent hands. Look for him to grow into a big time offensive tackle. Giancarlo joins an already great 7th grade offensive line for Team Georgia.
Other Top 7th Grade performers:
Returning player, Kamar Wilcoxson, proved to be a long and determined athlete who can play on both sides of the ball. His speed makes him a good safety or running back. Most importantly, he possesses that intangible quality that will eventually set him apart…he’s got the right football mentality.
Edward Smith is a 6’0, 140lb athlete. Smith not only has a great frame but he moves well. He could be a great tight end or dominant linebacker.
Messiah Jones is another returning player who is a very sound defensive back and could be an asset to Team Georgia

The hardest working player at camp by far was 8th Grade MVP David Roberts. The 5’11, 172lbs running back proved his skills on the field with the fastest 40 at camp (4.72) but he really impressed coaches with his versatility and his willingness to learn how to improve an already great skill set.
Other Top 8th Grade performers:
De’Amare Chambers is a long lean cover corner with great acceleration and change of direction.
Jaymori Martin is a good sized athlete that found ways to make plays on both offense and defense. Jaymori can help out at a number of positions.
At 6’0 170 Rodney Groce has the size matched with football speed and knows how to make things happen on the field.
Rosters for Team Georgia will be announced Wednesday, March 30th and of course, they will face off with Team Florida Saturday, June 18th at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. For more information, visit futurestarsgame.com
